3 day Intermediate surf lessons
Over the course of three days (back-to-back), we’ll focus on key areas like paddling, wave reading, turns, and maneuvers, giving you the time and practice needed to fine-tune your technique.
This course is perfect for those ready to commit to more in-depth learning. Each session will build on the last, ensuring steady progress. We will work closely with you, adapting the lessons to your individual needs, so you get the most out of every wave.

Course 1: Paddling & Maneuvering
Efficient Paddling Techniques
Learn proper paddling posture and correct body positioning to maximum efficiency.
How to paddle using long, deep arm strokes to generate more speed with less effort.
Board Maneuvering Skills
How to shift your weight to maintain speed and stability.
How to press the rails of the board into the water to steer and change directions.
Quick pivot turns to position better or to change direction faster when paddling
Angling your takeoff by position diagonally towards the peak, allowing you to catch the wave earlier
Wave Navigation Techniques
Turtle Roll (for longboards or larger boards) - How to flip the board upside down, hold onto the rails, and let the wave pass over you before flipping back.
Duck Dive (for shortboards) - How to put nose of the board down, kick your back foot, and pull the board through the wave.
Timing and Positioning - Focus on understanding the rhythm of the sets, position yourself outside the impact zone
Course Duration: 2.5 hrs daily, with private, personalized instruction for all intermediate lessons.

Course 2: Catching & Turning
What you will learn
Wave Reading & Decision-Making
Learn to read the wave’s shape and decide when to turn or gain speed.
Anticipate the wave’s break, making decisions quickly—whether to turn, accelerate, or adjust your body.
Take-Off Positioning
Learn to read the wave’s shape and decide when to turn or gain speed.
To ensure you’re in the right spot on the waves arc for a smooth takeoff.
How to adjust your position based on the wave’s size and power to get the best entry.
Bottom Turn
How to take the first turn after catching the wave, setting up your ride for control.
How to apply pressure on your back foot to steer the board by engaging the rail.
Learn to shift weight to toes for frontside turns or heels for backside turns and positioning for the next move.
Top Turn
Rotate your shoulders and hips as you reach the lip of the wave to initiate the turn.
Shift your weight to the back foot, lifting the nose and aligning the board to continue down the line.

Course 3: Speed, Carving & Maneuvers
Building Speed
Learn how to generate speed by pumping the board up and down the wave’s face.
Shift your weight forward and back while following the wave’s natural curve.
Use small, controlled turns to maintain momentum and stay ahead of the breaking wave.
Carving Turns
Learn how to carve waves , which involves controlled turns to change direction on the wave.
Apply pressure on the inside rail while shifting your weight for smooth, powerful turns.
Practice both frontside and backside carves to transition between different sections of the wave.
Cutbacks
How to shift weight onto your heels for a smooth, rounded turn that brings you back to the power zone of the wave.
How to predict and stay in the critical part of the wave for maximum control and speed.
Flow & Ease:
Focus on transitioning between maneuvers with ease and style.
Combine carving, cutbacks in one smooth, continuous motion.
Develop the ability to read the wave and link maneuvers seamlessly, staying in rhythm with the wave.
Wave Positioning
Learn how to position yourself on the wave to set up for each maneuver.
Stay close to the pocket (the most powerful part of the wave) to maintain energy.

What to expect
Day 1 Assessment: Edy Rodrigues, the Founder & Head Instructor, will evaluate your surfing skills during a 30-minute surf session to understand your level.
Skill Recommendations: If fundamentals like paddling and maneuvering need work, you’ll be advised to start with the first intermediate course to build a strong foundation.
Daily Sessions: Each day will feature a 2.5-hour lesson that includes in-water practice, video analysis, theory discussions, and targeted exercises.
